The launching trolley folds up for easy transport in the back of a car, and the dinghy is easily car-toppable.

Built in 1988 the dinghy his now 20 years old but sails very well and 8 years ago won 4 national championships with the existing sail and rig set-up. Since then it has been in storage and used only a handful of times.

History Granci began life as a charter yacht with Mediterranean Maritime Limited at Gzira in Malta. Hence her name Granci which is Maltese for 'crabs'. She has had seven owners in total and has been with ourselves the current owners for the past 18 years. We have the original British registry document from 1967 which is fastinating reading itself listing owners and their occupations and addresses ina similar fashion to a marriage certificate.

The yacht is remakably sea worthy and Robin Knox Johnson sailed one of the larger variants around the world. The previous owners sailed Granci back to the UK from the Mediterranean and we sailed her to mid English Channel to see the total eclipse of the sun several years ago. There is a thriving Kingfisher owners club. Approximately 120 Kingfisher 20s are registered with the club and are located all over the world. In addition to the 20 footer, the club lists around 50 of the larger 26ft version and 35 of the 30ft version. Granci was designed in 1959 by Westfield Engineering in Weymouth. So the class' pedigree comes from its excellent engineering roots. Granci was build number 215 launched in 1967. The class was very successful and over 700 were built in a number of versions and lengths.
